Scott Bivens joins the Growth Strats team with over a decade of operations and business consulting experience. Scott has worked with clients in numerous market segments, including government, commercial services, and manufacturing, where he redesigned customer-facing and operational business processes to reduce waste while improving value. He has a knack for leveraging lean and agile problem solving concepts, while considering the human element to deliver practical solutions.
Scott holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Management from Eastern Michigan University and is Six Sigma (Green Belt) certified.
His professional interests include community involvement, innovation, and change management.
Quentin G. LovePartner
Quentin G. Love has nearly two decades of strategic marketing and operational management experience as a professional and entrepreneur. Stints have included consulting, a digital startup, social enterprises, advertising, and sports & entertainment.
Currently, Love manages a diverse portfolio of clients. Portfolio includes brokering a partnership between En Garde! Detroit and the Detroit Sport Commission that evolved into a successful bid for a national fencing tournament-Detroit’s first in over twenty years. This resulted in an estimated $2 million impact to the Detroit area economy. Quentin has also assembled and run experiential projects in various markets across the country. Some of the brands and clients include the NBA, McDonald’s, Chevy, USA Fencing, Walmart, Subway, NCAA® Basketball, White Castle and Pepsi.
Prior to this, Love was selected to help lead the Blackstone LaunchPad program at Wayne State University, an incubator for student ventures funded by Blackstone’s Charitable Foundation. There, he helmed digital communications, cohort recruitment and advised early stage ventures – reporting to the Executive Director. Love served as a member of the Detroit 2009 NCAA® Men’s Final Four® Organizing Committee primarily responsible for community outreach.
Love got his start as an advertising executive assigned to the McDonald’s account managing budgeting and strategic planning for diversity initiatives. During this time he worked on new and test product launches as well as identifying and executing strategic community partnerships.
Quentin holds a B.A. in sports management and communications from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from Wayne State University.
Love is passionate about devoting time to organizations focused on improving the lives of youth and the underrepresented. He also enjoys mentoring young entrepreneurs and professionals and speaking to groups through programs such as ProsperUS Detroit at Vanguard CDC.
When time permits, Love is enjoys traveling, never one to shy away from adventure or an opportunity to immerse himself in new experiences. His lifelong focus includes strengthening his faith, reading, music, keeping fit and returning to his hometown of Flint, MI to see family.
Germar Reed, Partner – Manages the Advanced Analytics Group at Growth Strats, bringing 10 years of data-driven marketing and advanced analytics experience to the Growth Strats team. He has extensive experience in developing and applying database marketing strategies for many Fortune 500 companies across a variety of industries, including financial services, technology, retail, automotive and healthcare. Throughout his career, he has been associated with the development of many well-known relationship marketing brands and customer loyalty strategies.
Mr. Reed holds a B.S. in marketing and finance from East Carolina University and an MBA with a concentration in marketing analytics from Wayne State University.
Terrence J.L. ReevesPartner
Terrence has more than 13 years of experience in law and business, assisting organizations of all sizes across diverse business and social cultures in the U.S., Europe, Asia and LATAM.
Mr. Reeves has a long history of improving processes and increasing revenue in his role as an “intrapreneur” for large organizations. Terrence consults organizations on topics including growth strategy, strategic partnerships, regulatory compliance, innovation, entity selection and revenue modeling. Due to his background in law and business, Terrence has a unique view on the intersection between risks (business, cultural and legal),innovation and growth.
Once a high school dropout, Terrence received his B.S. political science from Eastern Michigan University with a minor in business and later received his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School, where his studies focused on transactional law. Terrence received his MBA from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, Magna Cum Laude, where he was also inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma.
Terrence has received numerous awards, including awards from the EMU Alumni Association, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Governor Granholm, Michigan Chronicle, the Wolverine Bar Association, the City of Detroit and Ford.
Rafael C. TurnerPartner
Rafael Turner joins the Growth Strats team with a wealth of experience and a diverse professional background in working to assist private, public and nonprofit organizations in their efforts to revitalize urban centers.
Prior to joining the Growth Strats team, Turner was the Manager of Government Relations for the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce. Turner worked closely with the Senior Management Team to build synergies in public and private sectors to help businesses grow. Rafael implemented strategies of value to Flint, Genesee County and the East Michigan Prosperity Region.
Rafael also served as the Talent Team Captain for the Chamber’s economic development group where he connected employers with workforce development tools and financial resources. Rafael assisted area entrepreneurs and served as staff coordinator for the Chamber’s Public Policy Committee and Community Outreach Support Services.
Rafael brings more than 12 years of experience at the federal government level where he focused on business globalization, economic wellbeing and labor.
Rafael is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication and Media Studies, and of the University of Michigan, with a Master’s in Public Administration in Non-Profit and Public Organizational Management.
